Technical Deep-Dive: Power, Voltage, and Dimensions
We chose a 2500W rating because it delivers immediate radiant heat that can wrap a patio seating area in warmth. High wattage means the temperature climbs quickly, but it also means you need to plan for the electrical load. Running on 400V keeps the current lower than 230V would, which lets you use smaller wire and avoids voltage drop over typical outdoor runs. And the 300mm tube length? That’s about keeping the footprint compact. It concentrates the heat where you want it, without forcing you to redesign the fixture or mounting.
Material & Design: Halogen, Coating, and Connector Choice
Inside, we use a halogen-filled quartz envelope. It supports a high-temperature filament and keeps output stable. The halogen cycle helps the filament resist blackening, so the heat stays consistent over time. The quartz is coated to manage UV and to handle thermal shock—like when rain hits a hot tube or when power cycles fast. And the R7s connector isn’t an afterthought. It’s a straight, two-contact termination that locks in alignment, carries the current safely, and lets you swap the tube without rewiring the whole fixture.
Application & Benefits: Patio Heating Without Overcomplicating the Build
On a restaurant patio, you want heat that feels direct, not spread thin. This setup gives you high heat density from a small tube, so you can aim it right at tables and walkways. There is a trade-off, of course. 2500W at 400V means you need a properly rated control, the right fusing, and enough cooling in the enclosure. But when you spec it correctly, you get a heater that’s tough, easy to service, drops in cleanly, runs reliably, and keeps your customers comfortable.
