
Making Your PET Heater Actually Work With Your Machine
Most PET blowing machines use shortwave infrared lamps to get those preforms hot enough to stretch. We’ve spent a lot of time making sure our heater modules just work—basically as drop-in replacements for about 95% of the brands out there. It’s not some secret trick. We just focused on the basics: making sure the electrical footprint and the heat output match what you’re already using.
Let’s talk power
Depending on your grid, we spec our tubes anywhere from 220V to 400V. If you’re running a high-speed line, you probably need those 400V tubes. They pack a massive amount of heat into a tiny space, which is a lifesaver when your preform only has a few seconds to hit that sweet spot for stretching. But here’s the catch: those high-density tubes are tough on your reflectors. If your reflectors are dirty or pitted, you’re just wasting energy by heating up the machine frame instead of the plastic.**Keep them clean.**It makes a huge difference.
The nitty-gritty on materials
We use quartz glass with special halogen coatings. Why? Because we want the heat to actually soak into the PC or PET plastic, not just scorch the outside. As for the plugs, we stick to the industry standards—R7s and Sk15 bases. Think of them as the universal chargers of the heating world. It means when a lamp finally burns out, you can just swap it. No rewiring the oven, no fabricating weird brackets, and no headaches.
The reality of the factory floor
We know these things live in 24/7 environments. They take a beating. But if you want them to last, watch your voltage. Spikes are the fastest way to kill a halogen filament. We always suggest pairing our modules with stable SCR power controllers. It keeps your temperatures consistent from one end of the oven to the other and stops your lamps from popping prematurely.
