The secret to deep heating
Here is the thing: PET resin only likes certain types of heat. We tweaked the filament and the quartz glass to push out wavelengths that the plastic actually absorbs. It means the core of your preform hits the right temperature without burning the outside. When you’re running at full tilt, you only have a split second to get the heat in. These lamps make sure you don’t waste a single millisecond of that window.
No fuss, just fit
We used a high-wattage halogen cycle so the quartz doesn’t turn black and crusty over time. Plus, we ground the ends of the tubes with a lot of precision. Why? Because a loose fit leads to arcing, and arcing kills your lamps. The best part is that they’re a direct swap. You just pop them in. No rewiring the oven, no messing around with the footprint, no headaches.
A few tips from the shop floor
Now, a heads-up. Pushing this much energy into a preform puts more stress on your cooling fans. If your vents are clogged or your fans are struggling, the oven gets too hot. And when that happens, your preforms start to deform. It’s a pain to fix, so keep an eye on your airflow. And one more thing—please, check your reflectors every time you swap a lamp. If the mirrors are dirty, it doesn’t matter how powerful the lamp is; the heat just won’t penetrate. Keep them polished and you’ll get exactly what you paid for.
